OK so I'm not the best at blogging!! But in my defence, getting connected has been a challenge especially on the way down to Melbourne and things have been rather hectic since arriving in Tasmania a week ago. However enough of the excuses to all the news.

Great drive down from Brisbane to Melbourne, took 3 nights and came the Newell Highway. Country looked spectacular, green grass and gold wheat/cereal everywhere. Dams, rivers, creeks all with water, we haven't seen it looking this good for many years.

Melbourne was fun catching up with old friends.

Then on Tuesday night we made our way through Melbourne's traffic and toll roads to the Port, and there she was the shiny red Morgan, Brian's eyes lit up and a big sigh of relief from me. Much to Brian's delight the MG club of Geelong were going on the Spirit as well, there must have been about 20+ MGs of different vintage. Some how they all seem to manage to get on first and the little red morgan was amongst them. I go left at security check as I hadn't realised they needed to see in boot and bonnet and do you think I could find the bonnet lever!! Luckily he was a very nice Security man and took pity on this female driver.

Anyway after a little delay waiting to get on board we got into our cabin, it was lovely big queen bed lovely picture windows en-suite, complimentary champagne in the fridge, toiletries, robes etc etc.

Not being the best of ocean travellers (at least from my experience of crossing the English Channel 50 years ago) I did what my Dad and I always used to do and headed straight for the bar, and a couple of quells. Obviously this potion still does the trick as we ate a good meal and had a great nights sleep.

Before we knew it we were in Devonport pulling up at the dock and off loading by 7.00am. We drove over to the house and settled the Morgan into its new garage, checked around the house and headed for some coffee and breakfast.

Before I get onto the state of the building just to mention we spent 3 days in Ulverstone in a lovely B&B called Boscobels, highly recommend.

The house is really progressing well, we are inpatient but realistically the builders are doing a great job. All plastering is now done and the painters come in on Monday, so fingers crossed we may have somewhere to cook the turkey.

After we arrived we picked up a ride-on-mower and got stuck into the paddocks, never don this before and what fun it was, poor Brian was left whipper-snipping all the difficult stuff as he couldn't get me off the mower. After two full days of work the paddocks looked much better and the new little mower had passed a very hard test, it had cut the long grass really well, I now can't wait for the grass to grow a bit so I can do it all again!

We also started work an getting the garden back into shape, pretty hard work but the soil is lovely and to all my friends at UQ I started first with a vege patch and have planted some of your seeds, the gardening gloves and soap have proved a blessing.

Brian sadly had to return to Bris on Tuesday and since then I have been in charge, of all the decisions together of course with many phone calls back to Bris.

Yesterday was a huge day with the new Envirosystem treatment tank and piping arriving and being installed, I was out at the house at 7.00am to answer many queries, but at the end of the day it all seemed to be ok.

Today it is time to meet the carpet man and for those who know Brian and his love of Burmese I am off to see a brown Burmese coco who is due to have a litter around Christmas, they live just along the river from our new house, is this an omen or what!

So no doubt a busy day again, I feel I have got this up to date so now I will try and post daily, tonight I will let you know how coco is going
